Gay Men’s Therapy Group

March 3, 2020

Gay Men Therapy group

R&A’s Gay Men’s Therapy Group is a weekly interpersonal process group developed for gay men seeking to learn how to express their vulnerabilities and feelings with others. This group is open to gay men of all ages, and participating in this group could be a great way to supplement concurrent individual or couples work. Group members have the opportunity to improve interpersonal and coping skills, practice new communication techniques in a safe environment, share their experiences of struggles common to members of the LGBTQIA+ community, obtain feedback from other group members who are facing or have faced similar issues, experience relief from emotional distress through the process of connecting with others, and boost self-confidence.

This group is facilitated by Brad Stevens, Ph.D., who identifies as a gay man. While Brad has led a variety of psychotherapy groups, Brad most recently co-facilitated a weekly process group for LGBTQIA+ veterans at the James J. Peters (Bronx) VA Medical Center. Throughout his training, Brad has enjoyed providing individual therapy to LGBTQIA+ clients.
